To use Zemanta you don't have to sign up or make another account, Just install the add-on and start enhancing your blog.
This add-on is available for Firefox, IE
Zemanta is a free and open source product so you don't have think so much about privacy and security.
You can also use Zemanta with Emails like Gmail and Yahoo, But I didn't find any practical use of it.

In simple words you can attach videos from you tube and other video sharing sites and play them on your blog. It can also Find and link Images videos and others articles to your blog and show them when your user points cursor on it.
Whenever Your visitor select a text, it will show a small search tool-tip by which your reader can see the result without leaving your site.
With Apture You also get a bar that can be used to share your site on social networks with Facebook and Twitter. This bar can also be used to search the web, and your reader can do this without having to leave your site.
And that's not all , with Apture you also get a detailed user stat about what your user is reading and sharing.But you have to register to use all this awesome features.
